BRADFORD MAN RECEIVES SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR ONLINE CHILD EXPLOITATION
VIGILANTES who posed online as a 14-year-old girl confronted a man outside his home after he sent a picture of his penis to the decoy profile.
Over a period of three months, Robert Kesely, a 42-year-old Slovakian national from Prospect Road, Bradford, engaged with a fake profile created by a group.
He first contacted the decoy on September 7 last year, claiming he was 34 and from Bradford.
Over the following months, he sent multiple messages and voice notes, expressing affection, calling her "beautiful" and "sexy," asking if she went to school, requesting photographs, professing love, and claiming to be wealthy.
The interactions escalated as he asked for naked pictures and sent a photograph of his erect penis.
The group responsible for the decoy profile confronted Kesely a fortnight later.
During police questioning, Kesely denied intending to have sexual communications with a child, claiming he was merely playing along and believed the girl was suspect.
He admitted to sending the explicit photo but said he was intoxicated at the time.
Kesely pleaded guilty to attempted sexual communications with a child.
The court, led by Mr.
Recorder David Gordon, sentenced him to 15 months imprisonment suspended for two years, requiring him to register as a sex offender for ten years, and imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order restricting internet access for the same period.
Additionally, he must undertake 40 rehabilitation activity days and complete 180 hours of unpaid work.
The court regarded his actions as a serious breach of societal norms, noting his sustained behavior and the deception involved.
