MAN SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST TEENAGERS
A man has been sentenced to three years in prison after being convicted of sexual offenses involving two underage girls.
Robert Allum, aged 30 and residing on High Street in Sheerness, was given a six-year sentence by Maidstone Crown Court on May 4.
However, he will serve three years in prison and the remaining term on license.
The jury found him guilty of two counts of assault by penetration, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Prior to the verdict, Allum denied the 10 charges brought against him, but on January 16, he was convicted of six counts after a trial.
In addition to his imprisonment, he was issued a sexual harm prevention order and will be registered as a sex offender for life.
The abuse started when the victims were 14 and 15 years old, beginning in July 2009 and continuing until November 2013.
The allegations only became known after one of the girls confided in her mother, leading to the investigation and charges.
