RICKY CROSSLEY OF MIDDLESBROUGH SENTENCED FOR SEX CRIMES INVOLVING CHILDREN

In a case that has shocked the community of Middlesbrough, Ricky Crossley, a man with a troubling history of sexual offenses against minors, has been sentenced to additional prison time after admitting to a series of heinous crimes involving young girls.

Crossley, who is now living under the alias 'Carl' Crossley, was released from prison in February 2017 and has reportedly been telling acquaintances in local pubs that he has just completed a prison term for manslaughter.

His criminal activities first came to public attention in December 2007, when he was convicted of serious sexual offenses against children.

At that time, Crossley, an Elvis impersonator and former leader of the Elvis Presley fan club in Cleveland, was sentenced to ten years in prison for sex crimes involving minors.

During the sentencing at Teesside Crown Court, a victim’s mother loudly shouted “rot in hell” as Crossley was led away.

Judge Les Spittle described Crossley as someone who had exploited the innocence of young girls, some as young as five, highlighting that he drove a Jaguar and had a seemingly respectable public persona.

In February of the previous year, Crossley received an extended sentence of ten years for attempted rape and indecent assault committed in 2002 against a 15-year-old girl.

Following this, media reports prompted three additional victims to come forward and contact police authorities.

These new allegations involved indecent assaults on three young girls aged five, nine, and ten.

Crossley, aged 45 at the time, admitted to these charges, which led to his being sentenced to an additional four-and-a-half years in prison.

Prosecutor Sarah Mallett explained that the victims had reached out to law enforcement after the media coverage in February, which detailed Crossley's previous conviction.

One particularly distressing case involved a five-year-old girl who later self-harmed and required psychiatric treatment to cope with recurring nightmares and flashbacks.

In another incident, Crossley reportedly pinned a nine-year-old girl to a bed, only to later tell her, “People sometimes do things that they don’t mean,” after she managed to escape.

An 11-year-old girl who visited his home was subjected to inappropriate conversations about massage and sexual innuendos.

Crossley's background included working as a chauffeur for the Mayor of Middlesbrough, a position he lost after throwing a party in the mayor’s parlour.

His criminal record and behavior led to his arrest while he was serving time at Holme House Prison.

Although he initially denied all allegations, he eventually pleaded guilty during his trial.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Les Spittle emphasized the gravity of Crossley's actions, stating, “They were young girls and they were over-awed by you.

You took advantage of them and you indecently assaulted them.” The courtroom was filled with victims and their families, including several mothers, who watched as Crossley sat with his head bowed.

As a result of his convictions, Crossley was sentenced to serve four-and-a-half years consecutively to his previous ten-year sentence.

He was also banned for life from having any contact with children and was ordered to register as a sex offender for life, marking a severe legal stance against his predatory behavior.
