DARLINGTON MAN JAILED FOR STAMPING ON PARTNER'S INJURED ANKLE
Richard Tutty, of Engine House Lane, Darlington, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent on December 11, 2023, after a trial last month.
The court heard he reacted to a drunken argument with his partner by violent means, pushing her onto the bathroom floor and then repeatedly stamping on her ankle, which was injured.
The victim described how Tutty's eyes were 'full of rage' before he caused her pain and threw a canvas picture at her before leaving the house.
She suffered a fracture to her right ankle, bruising near her eye, and the incident had a severe psychological impact, leaving her feeling heartbroken, guilty, suicidal, and worthless.
The judge sentenced Tutty to three and a half years in custody and imposed an indefinite restraining order to protect the victim.
The court also noted the incident had a lasting physical and emotional toll on her.
