RICHARD SADLER ATTACKED IN BIRMINGHAM BY JOHN HAMILTON OVER SEXUAL OFFENSE PAST
In a disturbing incident that has shocked the Birmingham community, Richard Sadler was violently assaulted by John Hamilton in the early hours of February 1st. The assault took place in the Acocks Green area, a neighborhood well known within Birmingham, where Sadler was targeted in a brutal attack that has raised serious concerns about vigilante justice and community safety.John Hamilton, a resident of Wellbeck Grove, Erdington, approached Sadler unexpectedly and without any apparent provocation. Armed with a claw hammer, Hamilton struck Sadler across the forehead in a vicious assault. Witnesses reported that Sadler, visibly injured, staggered into the street after the initial blow and collapsed onto the pavement. Hamilton then continued his assault, hitting Sadler again as he lay vulnerable on the ground.
It was revealed during court proceedings that Sadler had previously served a prison sentence of ten and a half months for sexual assault. This prior conviction was well known to Hamilton, and it appears to have been the motive behind the attack. Prosecutors described the assault as being driven by Hamilton’s knowledge of Sadler’s criminal record, which included a sexual offense against a woman known to Hamilton himself.
Hamilton was charged with assault and possession of an offensive weapon. During the court hearing, he admitted to the charges, acknowledging the use of the hammer and the assault itself. The judge, emphasizing the seriousness of the crime and the potential threat to community safety, sentenced Hamilton to 18 months in prison. The court’s decision underscores the gravity of taking justice into one’s own hands and highlights the ongoing concerns about violence motivated by past criminal records in Birmingham.
