BLACKBURN MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO FRENZIED ATTACK ON EX-PARTNER AND PROPERTY
A man named Richard James Farren, aged 23 and residing on Marlton Road in Blackburn, has admitted to a frenzied attack on his former partner, Annette McCammon, and property.According to Blackburn magistrates, Farren took their baby from McCammon's arms before launching an aggressive assault that caused significant damage.
During the incident, a television was pushed off a wardrobe nearly hitting the 10-month-old child, and a wardrobe door was thrown, inadvertently causing a cut on the baby's lip.
Farren pleaded guilty to charges of affray and criminal damage.
As part of his sentence, he was placed under an 18-month community rehabilitation program focusing on anger management and ordered to pay £300 in compensation.
Prosecutor Eddie Harrison detailed that Farren accused McCammon of sleeping with other men and became physically violent, ripping a wardrobe door off and throwing it, leading to the child's injury.
Farren then engaged in an assault on McCammon, including strangulation and punching, prompting her to escape and call for help.
Defense attorney Eddie Harrison noted that Farren and McCammon had been together for two years and suggested that the incident was triggered by her staying out overnight after asking him to babysit.
