He was acquitted on one charge of indecency with a child. September 2005 ‘Shared interest in child sex abuse’ Two lovers had a “shared interest in the abuse of children”, a court has been told. (name taken out as cannot find any info on any convictions relating to this man) and Richard Irving, 35, of High Street, Yatton, denied more than 20 charges relating to child abuse when they appeared at Bristol Crown Court yesterday. (no name) is charged with one count of rape, nine counts of indecency with a child and one further count of indecent assault. Irving is charged with 11 counts of indecency with a child and one count of indecent assault. Prosecutor Ian Fenny told the jury: “This is going to be a difficult case for everybody involved. “Mr (no name) and Mr Irving were homosexual lovers. “They had a sexual relationship but also used children as part of their sexual relationship time and time again. “These are very disadvantaged children. “They are very young and have not achieved highly in education. This fact is reflected in their use of language. They are also very damaged. “The defendants say they are not guilty. “They say the allegations are completely fabricated. “But, if that is the case, where did the children get the knowledge of the acts they described when interviewed by police, bearing in mind their age, lack of sophistication and lack of intellect? “Children their age are unaware of adult sexual activities. So when they speak, they speak of experience.” The court heard how, on many different occasions, the pair abused three children who sometimes witnessed the abuse on each other. The court was told that Irving had said to one of the children: “If you tell anyone about this, I won’t be happy.” The jury heard that, although (no name) admitted to police officers in an interview that he and Irving did have a sexual relationship, Irving had always denied this. Jury members were told they would hear evidence from the three child victims, their school teachers and police officers. The case continues.
