PETER MAHRENHOLZ FROM BROMSGROVE ESCAPES JAIL AFTER SHOCKING INDECENT ACTS IN VIEW OF CHILDREN

In a disturbing series of incidents that took place in Bromsgrove, Peter Mahrenholz, a 61-year-old man residing on Stoney Hill Close, was found guilty of engaging in indecent acts in full view of children and teenagers. The events unfolded at a local children’s park situated directly opposite his residence, raising serious concerns about public safety and the protection of minors.

According to court records, Mahrenholz was convicted of three separate counts of outraging public decency. These acts occurred on three different dates: September 27, October 11, and October 28 of the previous year. The charges stemmed from incidents where Mahrenholz performed sexual acts in his own living room, but in a manner that was visible to the public, including children and teenagers who frequented the park.

He appeared before Redditch Magistrates’ Court on a Tuesday, having previously pleaded guilty to the charges on December 30, 2015. The prosecution, led by Adrian Jones, detailed the first incident in September, when a woman walking with her two children in the park observed suspicious behavior. She reported seeing Mahrenholz’s hand moving up and down near his groin area while his gaze was fixed intently on the children. Alarmed by what she saw, she quickly gathered her children and hurried home, subsequently calling the police along with her husband.

Following this report, Mahrenholz voluntarily attended a police interview. He was scheduled to be cautioned on October 13, but this was rendered unnecessary after he was reported again for similar behavior on October 11. During this second incident, Mahrenholz attempted the same lewd act at his residence, again in full view of the park. This time, he was completely unclothed, and three teenage girls, all aged 15, witnessed his actions. The court heard that Mahrenholz then approached a window, continuing his indecent behavior, prompting the girls to collect their belongings and leave hurriedly.

He was subsequently arrested on October 12 and released on bail. However, while still on bail, Mahrenholz committed a third offense on October 28. This time, he was observed by three teenage girls in the park, who reported that he was naked and engaging in indecent acts while looking directly at them. The girls described his behavior as clearly visible and noted that he was aware of their presence. Mahrenholz was arrested again on October 30.

During police interviews, Mahrenholz attempted to shift blame, claiming that his wife was at fault and questioning where the sex was supposed to happen. He also made a disturbing statement, saying, “the truth of the matter is I have to get my kicks from somewhere.”

Initially, District Judge Johnson considered the severity of the offenses, especially given that one was committed while Mahrenholz was on bail and involved children. He believed that only a custodial sentence would be appropriate. However, after Mahrenholz pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity, the judge reconsidered and opted for a different approach.

As a result, Mahrenholz was sentenced to a three-year community order. This order includes several conditions: a three-year supervision requirement, participation in a Community Sex Offender Group Programme, and the completion of 80 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, he was ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge, emphasizing the court’s recognition of the harm caused by his actions and the importance of community safety.
