July 2009 Man caught in car with teenage girls A 27-year-old man breached a crown court order by having two teenage girls in his car. Four years ago, Paul Blair, of Newton Road, Aston Fields, Bromsgrove, was given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order and 12 months jail for sexually assaulting a female. The order banned him from having unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, Worcester Crown Court heard. But on June 19 last year, police saw him with two 15-year-old girls in his car on Tesco’s car park in Redditch, said Gareth Walters, prosecuting. Blair admitted breaching the SOPO and was given a three-year community order with a condition that he completes a sex offender group work programme. Judge Alistair McCreath warned him that a further breach would result in a prison sentence. The judge said Blair had taken “no care whatsoever” over the girls’ ages. He thought they were over 16. But the judge accepted that there had been no grooming or sexual contact. Simon Phillips, defending, said Blair drew the attention of police by driving a distinctive car with special lights. He suffered from a heart problem and was due to go into hospital for an operation.
