BRIGHTON CHURCH DEACON JAILED FOR WEBCAM ABUSE
Church deacon Peter Keeley-Pannett Sentenced to Prison for Webcam Abuse November 2015 According to Sussex Police, all charges involved activities using a webcam.A church deacon who confessed to encouraging a young boy to reveal himself on a webcam has been sentenced to prison.
Peter Keeley-Pannett, 71 years old and from Brighton, engaged in webcam chats with boys as young as 13.
He pleaded guilty at Guildford Crown Court to creating indecent images of children over a span of two years.
The judge, Robert Fraser, sentenced Keeley-Pannett to 32 months behind bars and ordered him to be on the sex offenders register for life.
During the sentencing, he noted that Keeley-Pannett posed “a high risk of serious harm to children.” At the time of his arrest in November 2014, Keeley-Pannett, who lived on Bristol Road, was serving as a non-stipendiary deacon within the Diocese of Chichester.
