December 2012 – Still lives in Tintagel Road, Yeovil September 2004 Sex crimes teacher, 27, faces jail A West teacher was last night facing three-and-a-half years behind bars after he admitted sexually abusing 13 young pupils on a school trip. Sick paedophile Peter Burnett, 27, of Tintagel Road, Yeovil, primed his victims with lollipops before cuddling and inappropriately touching on an outing to Weymouth. But his crimes were discovered after the children, aged between eight and 11, told their parents of their horrific ordeals. In total, evil Burnett attacked eight boys and five girls on the trip. During the eight months he worked at a Dorset primary school, he also carried out abuse in the classroom and during a country dancing lesson in front of other pupils. Incredibly, Burnett secured his job at the school, which is near Sherborne, despite concerns voiced by his previous head teacher. Burnett had pleaded guilty at Dorchester Crown Court to 20 counts of indecent assault. He must also sign on to the sex offenders’ register.
