PAUL SUMMERS, BLACKPOOL, ADMITS TO IMPORTING CHILD SEX DOLL AND POSSESSING ILLEGAL IMAGES
In February 2019, Paul Summers, a bus driver from Blackpool, admitted to importing a childlike sex doll.The incident occurred when Customs and Excise officials inspecting aircraft cargo discovered Summers had ordered the doll from abroad.
Summers, 34, previously residing on Knowsley Avenue, Blackpool, and later living at Greenbriar Close, Layton, faced charges related to the importation of an indecent or obscene item.
He pleaded guilty to an offence under the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979, admitting to unloading a childlike sex doll, approximately 1.1 metres tall, from an aircraft at Blackpool on December 4, 2017.
Additionally, Summers admitted to possessing a prohibited image of a child.
Following the discovery of the doll, authorities visited his home and found the illegal image on his computer.
Prosecutor Pam Smith stated that the offences were considered beyond the magistrates' sentencing capabilities.
In response, defense lawyer John McLaren requested a pre-sentence report.
Summers was subsequently bailed and scheduled to appear for sentencing at Preston Crown Court on March 13, as arranged by Blackpool magistrates.
