PAUL STOCKWELL SENTENCED IN LEEDS FOR SEXUAL ABUSE OF TEENAGER
A 74-year-old man from Leeds, Paul Stockwell, has been handed a four-year prison sentence after being found guilty of multiple sexual offenses involving a teenage girl.The conviction follows a trial held in April at Leeds Crown Court, where the jury determined that Stockwell engaged in sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15 years old.
The court was informed that the victim was left feeling crushed, devastated, and suffering from depression as a direct result of the abuse she endured.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Stockwell, who resides on Ring Road in Beeston, had no prior criminal record before this incident.
The court also learned that he had attempted to take his own life, which was considered during sentencing.
As part of the court's ruling, Stockwell was issued an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, emphasizing the seriousness of his crimes.
The court detailed that the sexual misconduct occurred on two separate occasions at an address in Leeds in early 2019.
On the first occasion, the girl explicitly told Stockwell to stop, but he continued and, on the second, he kissed her.
Stockwell also pleaded with the victim not to report the incident to the police, further demonstrating his attempt to conceal his actions.

She now suffers from nightmares, has experienced significant changes in her eating habits, and has undergone counseling to cope with the trauma inflicted upon her.
Despite her health issues and reliance on a wheelchair, Stockwell was convicted in his absence after suffering a fall and receiving hospital treatment.
