PAUL ROGERS SOUTHAMPTON FORENSICS PERVERT CAUGHT GROOMING 12-YEAR-OLD IN LONDON

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community, Paul Rogers, a 37-year-old former forensic police worker from Southampton, was sentenced to 18 months in prison after being found guilty of attempting to groom a young girl over the internet. The incident took place in October 2007 and involved Rogers engaging in a sinister online scheme aimed at exploiting a minor.

Rogers, who was employed as a forensic expert with the Metropolitan Police, created a false online persona, pretending to be a 14-year-old girl named “Katie.” His goal was to establish a relationship with the girl, who was actually an undercover reporter working to expose online predators. During their online interactions, Rogers revealed his disturbing intentions, stating that he wanted her to meet his “male cousin,” and describing a bizarre scenario where she would dress him in her bra and knickers and then spank him.

The undercover operation culminated in a meeting at a park located in south-east London, where Rogers attempted to bribe the reporter, who was 20 years old, with £100 to perform explicit acts. This meeting was part of the police’s effort to catch him in the act of grooming and attempting to exploit a minor.

Rogers, who resides in Southampton, Hampshire, denied any allegations of sexual grooming during the trial. However, the court found him guilty last month at Southwark Crown Court, leading to his current imprisonment sentence. The case has raised serious concerns about the safety of minors online and the importance of vigilant law enforcement efforts to combat such predatory behavior.
