PAUL PARKER FROM CHAPEL ST LEONARDS SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN SKEGNESS

In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the local community, Paul Parker, a former hotel owner from Chapel St Leonards, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term after admitting to multiple serious sexual offenses involving young boys. The crimes, which spanned over a decade, have left lasting scars on the victims and have prompted a stern response from the judicial system.

Paul Parker, who once managed a hotel in Skegness during the late 1980s, was found guilty of a series of heinous acts that have profoundly impacted the lives of his victims. The court heard that Parker, now aged 57 and currently without a fixed address, pleaded guilty to four counts of indecent assault on a male, along with an additional charge of indecency with a child, relating to an incident between January 1997 and January 1999 involving one of the boys.

Furthermore, Parker admitted to a charge of rape and two counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, with these offenses occurring between 2007 and 2012 concerning a second young boy. In addition to these grave charges, he also confessed to possessing indecent photographs of a child, adding to the severity of his crimes.

The court sentenced Parker to 14 years in prison, emphasizing the devastating impact of his actions. Judge Michael Heath, presiding over the case, stated that Parker had inflicted “incalculable damage” on his victims. One of the boys, who was subjected to abuse during the 1990s, has since spoken out about how his life has been irreparably damaged by the trauma he endured at Parker’s hands.

As part of his punishment, Parker was ordered to register as a sex offender for life. Additionally, he was issued an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, which explicitly prohibits him from having any contact with boys under the age of 16 in the future.

Prosecutor Andrew Howarth explained that Parker’s arrest was initiated after police received a complaint regarding the offenses committed in the 1990s. During the investigation, authorities discovered photographs depicting Parker engaging in sexual abuse of a second boy. The police subsequently traced the second victim, who confirmed that he had been raped and sexually abused by Parker.
