BUSBY MAN ADMITS SEXUAL MESSAGES TO ADULT HE THOUGHT WAS 13
A man has admitted sending sexual messages to an adult pretending to be a child.
Paul McFadyen, 41, pleaded guilty to messaging a girl aged 13 who was in fact an adult pretending to be what is defined in law as an "older child".
The 41-year-old sent sexually explicit messages and images of a clothed erect penis and did attempt to sexually communicate with an older child.
McFadyen committed the crime between January 29 and March 25, 2024, at a property in Cartsbridge Road, Busby, and elsewhere.
He pleaded guilty at Paisley Sheriff Court on August 22.
No further details of the crime were read out at the short hearing.
Sheriff Bruce Erroch KC called for reports to be prepared, and McFadyen, of Westwood Square, East Kilbride, will return for sentencing on September 26.
He is on the sex offenders register in the interim.
