October 2011 Sex offender breaches court order A SEX offender who breached the terms of his court order has received a nine-month prison sentence. Paul Anthony Lines, 27, was made subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order in February 2007 for an offence of sexual activity with a girl under the age of 16. The order included a prohibition on using or possessing any device with internet access. He admitted breaching the order by using a computer at Weymouth Library on July 9 this year. Desmond Duffy, prosecuting, told a sentencing hearing at Dorchester Crown Court that Lines, of Westwey Road, Weymouth, was spotted at the library by a member of staff using the internet. Mr Duffy said Lines had received a two-year prison sentence at Bournemouth Crown Court for previous breaches of the order last year and was on licence when the offence was committed. He had since been recalled to serve the remainder of his sentence, with his earliest release date June 17 next year. Tim Shorter, mitigating, said his client fully admitted breaching the terms of his Sexual Offences Prevention Order by using the internet but stressed that the activity was in no way sexually motivated. Judge James Meston sentenced Lines to nine months in prison, served concurrent to the remaining period he has left on his current sentence.
