PAUL KENNEDY ABUSES YOUNG GIRLS IN ABBEY WOOD - SHOCKING CRIME REVEALED
In a disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Abbey Wood, Paul Kennedy, a 55-year-old man residing on Eysham Drive, was convicted of heinous acts involving the exploitation and abuse of young girls. Kennedy, who had gained the trust of several families in the area, used this trust as a means to carry out his sickening crimes.According to court proceedings, Kennedy managed to befriend three different families, establishing a false sense of security and familiarity. It was through this manipulation that he gained access to their children, including four young girls whose innocence he would ultimately violate. The abuse came to light after one of the girls, only seven years old, confided in her mother about an assault she had suffered at Kennedy’s hands. This revelation prompted the parents to discuss their children’s well-being, leading to the horrifying discovery that all four girls had been subjected to abuse by Kennedy.
The police were alerted to the situation, and evidence of sexual assault was uncovered during their investigation. Kennedy was arrested on November 5 of the previous year, and subsequent inquiries confirmed the allegations. Initially, Kennedy denied the charges when he appeared at the Old Bailey, but he later admitted to ten counts of indecent assault. These assaults spanned over a year, from June 1998 to November 1999, and involved girls aged between seven and twelve.
During the sentencing, Judge Richard Duckworth did not hold back in condemning Kennedy’s actions. He described him as a “vile despicable pervert” and expressed outrage at the betrayal of trust. The judge stated, “They looked up to you and you took advantage of this position to indulge your sick fantasies. You are disgusting.”
In a letter addressed to the court, Kennedy expressed remorse for his conduct, stating that he “deeply regretted” his actions and expressed a desire to seek rehabilitation to address his issues. Despite his remorse, the court sentenced him to six years in prison. Upon release, Kennedy will be subject to a year of supervised probation and will remain on the sex offenders’ register for the rest of his life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from further harm.
