March 2015 Pervert jailed for 18 years after repeatedly raping schoolgirl over three-year period An Abbey Wood paedophile who repeatedly raped schoolgirl girl over a three-year period has been jailed for 18 years. Alex Baah, 42, of Bolstall Hill, began raping the girl when she was just 13 at a house in New Addington, paying her £2 to take off her knickers. The victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, complained to police in August 2013 when she was aged 15, telling officers that she remembered being raped by Baah when she was 12. The girl, who knew Baah by his middle name of Kwame, told the court how Baah would give her £2 extra when she took off her knickers and put them under her pillow. Baah, originally from Ghana, denied ever touching the girl sexually. Unemployed Baah denied touching the girl and claimed she had planted his semen on his clothing and stole his mobile to send the messages. He was found guilty of two counts of rape between 2008 and 2013 at The Old Bailey. In addition to his 18-year jail term, judge Simon Farrell passed a sexual offences prevention order, which bans Baah from wilfully being in the presence of a girl under the age of 16 for the rest of his life. The judge told Baah, from Plumstead, south-east London, that his behaviour had been “wicked”. He said: “This was a terrible case. The damage caused to this girl is incalculable. “You were regularly raping her over these years, almost as a matter of course.” The judge added: “Rape of a child is a particularly serious offence and calls for severe punishment.” Baah waved at relatives in the public gallery as he was led to the cells. Baah, known to the victim by his middle name, Kwame, denied ever touching the girl sexually. She told police during a recorded interview that her alleged abuser would give her money after he raped her. She said: “He was, like, ‘take off your knickers’. I did and put them under the pillow and then… He gave me £2 extra.” The alleged victim, now aged 16, told officers the earliest attack she could remember took place when she was just 11. Prosecutor Jennifer Knight said: “She has very little recollection of all the detail of the very earliest incidents. The victim also remembered being raped by Baah when she was 12. Ms Knight added: “From that time, she was raped regularly, once or twice a week.” He was found guilty of two counts of rape at the Old Bailey today (March 26). He will be sentenced on March 31.
