PAUL FELLOWS FROM DUDLEY SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES IN WOLVERHAMPTON
In January 2017, a man from Dudley named Paul Fellows was sentenced to prison after being found in possession of highly disturbing indecent images and videos depicting children. The case unfolded when police officers responded to a call at Fellows' residence on Ash Road, where they observed a startling incident: a computer hard drive was being thrown out of a window by Fellows himself.
Upon retrieving the hard drive, investigators discovered it contained a significant collection of illicit material.
Prosecutor Paul Spratt informed Wolverhampton Crown Court that the hard drive was examined and confirmed to hold numerous indecent images of children.
Further investigation revealed that Fellows had stored additional images in a folder on his computer, which was accessible to others, raising concerns about potential distribution.
Fellows, aged 39, had a prior conviction from February 2012, when he was sentenced to a three-year community order for making indecent images of minors.
Despite this previous conviction, his criminal activity persisted, and between March 2012 and June of the following year, he amassed a horrifying collection of over 4,000 pornographic photographs of children, along with 568 videos.
Many of these images and videos fell into the most severe categories of abuse, depicting the worst forms of exploitation.
During the court proceedings, Recorder Martin Watkins described the material as 'appalling,' emphasizing that it represented live abuse against very young children.
When questioned about his actions, Fellows claimed he had not intentionally distributed the material but acknowledged that he might have inadvertently done so.
Ultimately, Fellows faced multiple charges, including three counts of distributing indecent images and videos and three counts of possession of such material.
He was found guilty and sentenced to 32 months in prison.
Additionally, the court mandated that he register as a sex offender for life and imposed a lifetime sexual harm prevention order to restrict his future activities and protect the community from further harm.
