ENFIELD MAN PATRICK MORLEY RECEIVES LIFE FOR SADISTIC SEX ATTACKS
A RAPIST was given five life sentences at the Old Bailey yesterday for sex attacks on two prostitutes.
Patrick Morley, 24, of Enfield, Middlesex, tied up his victims and flogged them until they passed out with pain, the court was told.
The judge, Michael Coombe, emphasized that the victims' status as prostitutes was irrelevant, stating, "The fact that they were prostitutes is neither here nor there.
They were made objects of the most wicked, sadistic and merciless behaviour by Morley." Morley, a businessman, was convicted by a jury of three rapes and two buggery charges, for which he received life sentences.
An additional 12 years were added for falsely imprisoning and assaulting the women, aged 22 and 20, on consecutive nights in March last year.
Morley denied the charges but was found guilty.
The judge stated that life sentences are necessary for public protection.
Morley's chauffeur, Ruben French, 27, from Peckham, was sentenced to seven years last month for sexually assaulting the 22-year-old woman.
