OSACPOLOR JIMOH SENTENCED IN STOKE ON TRENT AND LEEDS FOR GROOMING MINOR FROM BLURTON
Osacpolor Jimoh, a 37-year-old man of Nigerian nationality, has been handed a prison sentence of three years and nine months after being found guilty in a UK court of attempting to entrap a 13-year-old girl into sexual activities.The case highlights a disturbing pattern of grooming and predatory behavior that spanned multiple locations, including Blurton, Stoke on Trent, and Leeds.
According to court documents, Jimoh traveled from Scotland to Leeds, where he was eventually arrested at a train station.
Authorities revealed that he carried condoms and lollipops secretly in his pockets, a detail that underscores his premeditated intentions.
The arrest was part of an investigation into his online interactions with the young girl, which began in May 2022.
Jimoh had initiated contact with her via Facebook, falsely claiming to be 19 years old while the girl believed she was only 13.
Their online exchanges quickly turned flirtatious, with Jimoh engaging in conversations about relationships and sexual experiences.
Further probing revealed that Jimoh continued his grooming efforts through WhatsApp, where he asked the girl about her sexual history and sent explicit videos of himself.
His language was manipulative and inappropriate, often using endearments like “daddy” and urging her to send explicit pictures.
He also told her to “keep her man happy,” a phrase indicative of grooming behavior aimed at establishing control and trust.
When police confronted Jimoh at the Leeds train station, he attempted to justify his actions by claiming that their relationship was akin to that of a “father-daughter,” a statement that further demonstrated his attempt to manipulate the situation.
Jimoh pleaded guilty to five counts, which included attempting to groom a minor, inciting a minor to engage in sexual activities, and viewing pornographic content involving minors.
The court, taking into account his guilty pleas and the serious nature of his offenses, sentenced him to three years and nine months in prison.
