OLIVER HOUGH AND SHOCKING SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN LEEDS AND HERTFORDSHIRE
Oliver Hough, a 30-year-old man from Leeds, has been at the center of a disturbing series of sexual misconduct incidents that have led to his suspension from employment and a significant criminal conviction. The details of his actions were revealed during a court hearing at Leeds Crown Court, where it was disclosed that Hough was involved in two separate incidents of sexual assault, one in Hertfordshire and another in Leeds.
The first incident occurred in 2020 at a house in Hertfordshire, following a New Year’s party.
According to court reports, Hough was sleeping next to a man when he proceeded to grope him.
The victim repeatedly told Hough to stop and had to push him away multiple times to prevent further assault.
Although Hough later issued an apology to the man via Snapchat, police were not involved at that time, and no formal charges were made regarding this incident.
However, the situation escalated on January 14 of this year in Leeds.
After a night out, a group of friends, including the victim, stayed at Hough’s residence on Town Street, Armley.
During the early hours, one of the men was awakened to a shocking scene: he found his underwear pulled down and Hough kneeling beside his bed, engaged in sexual acts on him.
The victim, choosing to pretend to be asleep, managed to avoid further harm.
When others in the house realized what was happening, they detained Hough and called the police.
Hough was subsequently taken into custody.
During police interviews, he chose to give a no-comment response, but forensic evidence revealed his saliva on the victim, confirming his presence and involvement.
The case took a darker turn when it was revealed that Hough had a prior history of sexual assault, dating back three years.
He admitted to three counts of sexual assault and one count of digital penetration.
In mitigation, Hough’s legal representative, Lee Marklew KC, argued that Hough had already suffered significant consequences.
“He has lost his career and his work, so he has already been punished,” Marklew stated.
“He has faced shame from colleagues, superiors, and his family.
He has had ample time to reflect on his behavior.” Marklew described Hough’s conduct during the first assault as stemming from “misplaced confidence” and noted that Hough has been suffering from severe depression since his arrest.
The lawyer also mentioned that Hough has since moved back to the Midlands with his family and expressed concerns about how Hough, as a gay man, might be treated in custody.
The judge, Simon Phillips KC, sentenced Hough to 43 months in prison and ordered him to be placed on the sex offender register for life.
Additionally, the Health and Care Professions Tribunal Service website confirms that Hough is currently under an interim suspension from his professional duties, reflecting the serious repercussions of his actions and the ongoing professional consequences he faces.
