September 2018 Convicted paedophile Norman Ormerod on the run from police may be in Hull A convicted sex offender and paedophile who is on the run from police may be in Hull. Norman Ormerod, 45, was convicted of making indecent images of children in 2011 and 2015. He gave probation officers his address but has now been missing for more than a month and has failed to turn up to any of his appointments. Ormerod lives in Clitheroe, Lancashire, but officers say he has links to the Humberside area and may be in the region. In a public appeal for information, a Lancashire Police spokesman said: “We are continuing to appeal for information about a missing sex offender wanted on recall to prison. “Norman Ormerod went missing from an address in Clitheroe on August 2 and has failed to attend probation appointments. He was last seen in Preston on 9 August.  “The 45-year-old was convicted of making indecent images of children in 2011 and 2015.  “Ormerod has links to Lancashire and Cumbria and may have travelled to the North Yorkshire or Humberside areas.  “Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately. September 2017 Clitheroe man sent to crown court over possessing 57,000 indecent images of children A 44-year-old Clitheroe man has appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with possessing more than 57,000 indecent internet images of children. Norman Ormerod, of Park Avenue, Clitheroe, was sent in custody to Preston Crown Court charged with making 35 indecent photographs in category B and 57,623 in category C. He will appear in the Crown Court on September 27 where he is already due to appear on related matters.
