A man with a dark and violent past, Norman Bowen-Jones, was apprehended in Leeds after attempting to meet a minor he had groomed online.Bowen-Jones, who has a notorious history of heinous crimes, was found trying to arrange a meeting with an underage girl at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, following a series of disturbing online communications.
Bowen-Jones’s criminal record is marked by a particularly brutal murder committed in 1996, when he was just 17 years old.
Alongside his then 15-year-old accomplice, Timothy Dunn, he carried out a savage killing of Lesley Fox, a 29-year-old woman who was four months pregnant at the time.
The murder took place in her basement bedsit in Darlington, where the two boys had become frequent visitors.
Their twisted fantasies involved having sex with her and then killing her, a plan they executed on October 12, 1996.
Lesley Fox was subjected to a prolonged and violent sexual assault before being strangled with a piece of rope by Bowen-Jones.
The assault persisted even after her death, highlighting the extreme brutality of the crime.
Her body was discovered five days later, after being identified through dental records, as she had been missing for several days.
The boys blamed each other during police interrogations, but both were eventually convicted in November 1997.
