STROUD WOMAN JAILED FOR OBSESSIVE STALKING AND HARASSMENT
A woman identified as Nina Tiptaft, aged 24 and residing on Ridgemon Road in Stroud, has been sentenced to a year in prison for her actions involving stalking, harassing, and threatening two victims.
Tiptaft admitted to harassing both a man and a woman, and she also threatened to burn down a pub called the Prince Albert.
Notably, at the time of her offenses, she was under a restraining order and a suspended prison sentence for similar harassment of the same victims.
The court heard that Tiptaft bombarded her victims with phone calls, emails, and social media messages, sometimes receiving up to 100 emails a day, which caused alarm and fear among her targets.
Judge Robert Lowe described her behavior as 'life ruining,' emphasizing that her actions left the victims terrified and unable to function normally in society.
The court also noted that Tiptaft has significant autistic characteristics and a personality disorder, but she showed no real intention to cease her offending behavior.
The case highlighted her obsessive tendencies, with detailed accounts of her persistent and intrusive contact, which began in 2018 and escalated over time, despite measures to prevent contact.
The sentence reflects the serious impact her actions had on her victims' lives, effectively making them feel alarmed and miserable, and turning their lives into 'a living hell.'
