NIGEL ROBINSON FROM BLACKPOOL SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CRIMES INVOLVING DEAD BODIES AND CHILD ABUSE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Blackpool, Nigel Robinson, aged 42, was found guilty of a series of heinous crimes involving the exploitation of children, animals, and the desecration of deceased bodies.The Preston Crown Court heard how Robinson engaged in highly disturbing online activities, communicating with paedophiles, animal abusers, and individuals with an obsession with dead bodies through encrypted, 'military grade' chatrooms.
One of the most shocking revelations was that Robinson had invited a man to the mortuary with the explicit intention of engaging in sexual acts with a corpse.
This grotesque invitation was part of a broader pattern of depraved behavior that included encouraging a man to sexually abuse a puppy.
The court was told that Robinson not only discussed these acts but also took steps to facilitate them, including offering to supply crystal meth to a man to enhance sexual activity within the chapel of rest.
Evidence presented in court showed that Robinson posed for photographs next to open coffins and naked corpses, further illustrating the extent of his disturbing interests.
The police investigation was triggered after they arrested a paedophile in London in September 2021.
Following this arrest, authorities uncovered a web of online chats linking Robinson to various individuals involved in illegal activities.
On November 1, 2021, law enforcement officers visited Robinson’s residence on Chain Lane in Blackpool, seizing multiple digital devices.
Prosecutor Kim Whittlestone detailed the findings, revealing that Robinson possessed indecent images, some of which were distributed, and that he had material depicting extreme pornography involving torture and sexual abuse of children and animals.
Further examination of the seized devices uncovered evidence that Robinson had been in contact with others via social media, actively organizing and planning sexual offences against children, dogs, and even dead bodies.
One individual, who appeared to be familiar with Robinson, shared explicit fantasies about clients at the funeral home where Robinson worked, openly discussing necrophilia.
The court was told that these conversations included references to sexual activities conducted within the funeral home, with mentions of being 'horny when we f***ed by the lectern.' Robinson also discussed being intoxicated on poppers and crystal meth, offering to supply drugs to his contact.
In a separate line of communication, Robinson was in contact with a known paedophile, arranging a meeting to sexually abuse a child.
However, police intercepted these plans before they could be carried out.
The court also heard that Robinson expressed a fascination with notorious serial killer Fred West during his online exchanges.
When questioned by police, Robinson-Wright chose not to comment but later pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including arranging a child sexual offence, three counts of making indecent images, eight counts of distributing indecent images, possession of a prohibited image of a child, possession of extreme pornography, two counts of encouraging or assisting offences by inviting an unknown man to the mortuary, encouraging a man to sexually abuse a dog, and attempting to supply a Class A drug.
Defense lawyer Tom Lord requested that 16 other offences be taken into consideration, emphasizing that Robinson’s guilty plea was his best mitigation.
During a probation interview, Robinson claimed to be an animal lover who cared for rescue cats and ferrets, condemning those who mistreated animals as 'vile.' He also insisted that much of his online activity was merely 'fantasy,' a claim the judge rejected.
Ultimately, Robinson was sentenced to 17 years in prison, with an additional eight-year extended license period, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the need for ongoing supervision after his release.
