2012: WOMAN'S DRUNKEN SEX ATTACKER IS JAILED
A man named Nigel Moran, who was intoxicated, committed a sexual assault on a woman while she was waiting at a bus stop in Bolton town centre.The event took place on Deansgate on November 15 of the previous year.
Moran, 43 years old and residing on Evesham Close in Bolton, had consumed at least eight pints of alcohol that day.
He approached the woman, who was 47, with aggressive and threatening conduct, made racially offensive comments, attempted to take her cigarette, and then inappropriately touched her breasts.
He also tried to kiss her and made another attempt to grab her before she managed to escape.
A bystander assisted her in reaching a safe location at a nearby taxi office, where police were called.
Authorities tracked down and detained Moran based on her description.
The victim was left shaken, distressed, unwell, and feeling violated.
Moran initially denied the allegations but later admitted to sexual assault and racially motivated harassment.
He was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
The court considered his actions to be uncharacteristic and influenced by alcohol consumption.
The judge condemned his behavior as completely repugnant.
