NIGEL HADDEN ON THE RUN IN DONCASTER: POLICE SEEK PAEDOPHILE WHO FAILED TO REPORT CHANGE OF ADDRESS
In a development that has raised concerns within the community, South Yorkshire Police have publicly disclosed the disappearance of Nigel George Hadden, a convicted sex offender from Doncaster, after more than a year of remaining unpublicized. The police force has faced criticism for the delay in alerting the public about his disappearance, which only came to light recently.
Nigel Hadden, aged 48, was convicted in 1998 for indecently assaulting a girl under the age of 10.
His sentence included a five-year imprisonment term, and he has been on the Sex Offenders Register for life since then.
Despite the legal obligation to keep authorities informed of any change of address, Hadden failed to notify the police after leaving Skellow last July, breaching the conditions of his release.
This omission has prompted a nationwide manhunt, as authorities seek to locate him and ensure he remains under supervision.
South Yorkshire Police have taken significant steps in their efforts to find Hadden.
Yesterday, they released a photograph of the suspect and announced that extensive inquiries have been conducted across the country.
These investigations have included examining his phone records, speaking with relatives and acquaintances, and collaborating with other police agencies to track his whereabouts.
The police have also issued a plea to the public, urging anyone who might have information about his current location to come forward.
Hadden has known links to the towns of Barnsley and Rotherham, which are being actively investigated as part of the ongoing search.
Detective Sergeant Christopher Allott issued a statement emphasizing the seriousness of the situation: “Hadden is fully aware of the requirements he is subject to, but despite that, in July last year, he failed to notify us of his change of address.
He knows this has resulted in him being actively sought by officers, and we need anyone who has seen him recently or who knows where he is to contact us.” He further warned that anyone knowingly assisting Hadden could be committing criminal offenses and may face arrest.
The police described Hadden as approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a slim build.
He was known to have dreadlocks, but authorities believe he may have cut his hair and could now have a short moustache and a goatee beard.
A distinctive tattoo of dots across the knuckles of his right hand is also a notable feature.
Members of the public are encouraged to contact South Yorkshire Police at 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555111 if they have any relevant information that could assist in locating Hadden and ensuring he is brought back into the supervision of law enforcement.
