NICHOLAS LUMSDEN JAILED FOR 14 YEARS IN BIRMINGHAM FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES IN KENT
A man identified as Nicholas Lumsden has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 14 years after being convicted of multiple serious sexual offences. The crimes for which he was found guilty took place in Kent, specifically involving the towns of Ashford and Dover, and included heinous acts committed against two young girls and a woman.
According to police reports, evidence linking Lumsden to historic sexual assaults on children in Ashford emerged during the course of an investigation into allegations of a sexual assault on a woman in Dover in 2019.
This evidence played a crucial role in establishing his pattern of offending and ultimately led to his conviction.
Nicholas Lumsden, who resides on Selcroft Avenue in Birmingham, initially denied all charges brought against him.
However, after a comprehensive trial at Maidstone Crown Court, he was found guilty of a series of serious offences, including indecent assault, sexual assault of a child, and engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Following the verdict, Lumsden was brought back before the same court on Wednesday, April 17, where he was formally sentenced to 14 years in prison.
The court also ordered that he serve an additional five years on licence after completing his custodial sentence, ensuring ongoing supervision and restrictions upon his release.
Furthermore, the court imposed a 25-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which aims to restrict Lumsden’s activities and prevent any further harm to potential victims.
This comprehensive legal action underscores the severity of his crimes and the ongoing concern for public safety in Birmingham, Kent, and beyond.
