JEALOUS EX THREATENED TO KILL LOVE RIVAL'S FAMILY IN £1000 BLACKMAIL
A bitter ex who deliberately rammed his former girlfriend’s car and threatened to kill her new partner’s family if he didn’t cough up £1,000 has been jailed.
Nicholas Holland, from Doncaster, had originally been jailed in July 2020 for a crash that happened just weeks prior.
The 31-year-old was with her for six months, but she ended the relationship in December 2019 due to his jealous and controlling behavior, according to Sheffield Crown Court.
Holland was released from prison in September 2020 and almost immediately tried to contact his ex through two people on Snapchat.
On September 23, she and her new partner received more than 100 phone calls over an hour and a half.
One call, which lasted about five minutes, was recorded and used to convict Holland of blackmail and breaching a restraining order.
During the call, Holland threatened to take her new partner’s children away and told him to pay £1,000 in cash or his family would be killed, also branding the man a “divvy and a cokehead”.
Holland, of Lime Tree Walk, Doncaster, was sentenced to 29 months in prison.
