NEIL SCHOOLEY AND SHOCKING CHILD ABUSE IN BRIGHTON
A man from Brighton, Neil Schooley, has been sentenced to prison for heinous crimes involving young girls.The offences include giving alcohol to a young girl, coercing her to remove her clothing, and taking explicit photographs of her.
These disturbing acts occurred over a span of two days, during which Schooley engaged in multiple acts of sexual misconduct.
In addition to these incidents, Schooley also targeted another girl, who was under ten years old at the time.
He asked her to undress and pose for photographs, further demonstrating his predatory behavior.
On a separate occasion, he exposed himself to her, adding to the severity of his misconduct.
The investigation revealed that these incidents took place between 2016 and 2018, with one girl being under ten years old and the other between ten and thirteen.
The police launched a thorough investigation into Schooley’s actions after reports were made.
Detective Constable Joe Murray of Sussex Police stated, “Neil Schooley betrayed the trust of his young victims and their families for his own sexual gratification.” He emphasized the gravity of the crimes, noting that the sentence handed down reflects the seriousness and harm caused.
The court recognized the impact of Schooley’s actions on the victims and their families.
The victims displayed remarkable bravery by coming forward and supporting the police investigation.
Their courage was instrumental in bringing Schooley to justice.
Following the investigation, Schooley was arrested and charged with three counts of taking indecent images of a child and two counts of engaging in sexual activity with a minor.
Schooley, who resides on Woburn Place in Brighton, denied the allegations throughout the trial.
However, a jury at Hove Crown Court found him guilty of all charges.
During the sentencing hearing held on August 31, the court imposed the maximum penalty available for such crimes—eight years in prison.
Additionally, Schooley was ordered to register as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities.
