BRADFORD PAEDOPHILE NAVEED AHMED SENTENCED AFTER RELEASING VILE IMAGES AND BLACKMAIL ATTEMPT

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Bradford, Naveed Ahmed, a man with a long and troubling criminal history, has been sentenced to 27 months in prison for heinous offences involving child exploitation and online misconduct.

The court heard that Ahmed, 40, of Mannheim Road, Manningham, Bradford, had been released from a 20-year prison sentence only two months prior to his latest crimes, which included viewing and distributing extremely disturbing images of children being sexually abused.

Ahmed’s original conviction dates back to the year 2000, when he was sentenced to life imprisonment for arson with the intent to endanger life.

According to prosecutor Rebecca Young, he was released from prison in February of the previous year.

However, by April, he was actively viewing and sharing vile images of child abuse, and he was even making sick boasts on chat sites claiming that he was abusing children himself.

These revelations came to light after authorities identified his online activities.

The police took action after Ahmed’s Facebook account was closed following his upload of a Category A indecent image of a child.

On June 5, law enforcement officers visited his residence and seized his mobile phone, which contained two movies depicting child rape and a third indecent image.

Ahmed subsequently pleaded guilty to charges of making three Category A indecent images of children and distributing one such image between April and May of the previous year.

During the court proceedings, Miss Young highlighted that Ahmed was part of an online paedophile group comprising 269 participants, which he had joined.

The court was told that Ahmed falsely claimed to other members that he was actively abusing children, but these claims were determined to be baseless fantasies.

The court also revealed that, just a day before his arrest, Ahmed attempted to blackmail another man within the group, demanding £5,000 in exchange for not exposing his alleged paedophilia.

However, he was never charged with this extortion offence.

Ahmed explained to police that his extortion attempts were driven by a need for money to feed his crack cocaine addiction.

It was also disclosed that Ahmed’s criminal record is extensive.

In February 2000, he was convicted of burglary and arson committed in December 1998, which involved ransacking a house and setting three separate fires.

Despite the minimum sentence being relatively short, he was not released until 20 years later because the Parole Board deemed it unsafe to do so at the time.

Judge Jonathan Rose, who presided over the case, described it as complex and deeply troubling.

He noted that Ahmed had watched and shared degrading and depraved videos involving children, and that his claims of abuse were unfounded fantasies.

The judge emphasized that Ahmed’s actions and fantasies posed a significant danger to children, describing his mental state as “a darkness of mind that is deeply, deeply worrying.” Remarkably, these offences occurred just two months after the Parole Board had approved his release, believing he was no longer a threat to the public.

The court made it clear that Ahmed would not be released again until it was certain he no longer posed a danger.

To protect the community, Judge Rose imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will last for ten years, and ordered Ahmed to sign the sex offender register for the same period.

Both measures are intended to monitor and restrict his activities to prevent further harm to children.
