NAUGHTON MILNER BLACKPOOL PERVERT SENTENCED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND PUBLIC INDECENCY
In a case that has shocked the community of Blackpool, Naughton Milner, aged 39, was convicted of a series of heinous crimes involving a young girl and was subsequently sentenced to a lengthy prison term.The offences, which spanned from 2011 to 2013, included multiple counts of sexual assault against a 10-year-old girl, as well as possession of indecent images of children.
The court heard that Milner, residing on High Street in Blackpool, used manipulative tactics to exploit his young victim, often offering her sweets, chocolates, and cash to gain her trust.
Prosecutor Paul Cummings detailed that the abuse took place within the confines of a flat in Blackpool, specifically in the living room, over several months.
During these encounters, Milner would sit the girl on his lap or place her on the sofa, touching her inappropriately.
The court was informed that he attempted to stroke her leg and would tell her that he “loved her,” while also warning her that both of them would be in trouble if she revealed what was happening.
These actions left the young girl feeling a profound sense of discomfort and fear, as she later recounted in a statement that she was frightened of encountering Milner in everyday life.
In December 2016, the girl confided in a social worker about the abuse, revealing the distress she had endured.
The following year, in February 2017, she discovered that Milner had contacted her via Facebook messages, using a pseudonym, in which he asked to meet her and expressed a sexual interest.
The messages described her as “hot” and “fit,” and referenced past incidents, further indicating his inappropriate obsession.
Police investigations uncovered that Milner had used his Xbox console to search for the girl on Facebook, raising suspicions about his online activity.
Further probing revealed that Milner had sent an email to an individual he believed could share indecent images of children, stating, “Hi, I’m new to this, I’m looking for porn and pictures of girls, please could you help me please?” However, police discovered that he had actually been communicating with an undercover officer, during which he expressed a desire to have sex with a child.
In addition to these offences, Milner admitted to possessing a blade, adding to the severity of his criminal record.
Judge Philip Parry sentenced Milner to nine and a half years in prison, emphasizing the gravity of his crimes.
He ordered Milner to register as a sex offender for life and imposed a 15-year sexual harm prevention order.
The court also barred him from working with children or vulnerable adults, and his Xbox was seized as evidence.
The judge made it clear that Milner’s actions warranted strict supervision and control, given the danger he posed to society.
Milner’s criminal history includes an earlier conviction in 2014, when he was sentenced to eight months in jail after being caught in a cemetery performing a sex act while watching children on the other side of a hedge.
That incident, which took place in Blackpool, was described by Judge Graham Knowles as “an outrage of public decency,” and involved Milner listening to and observing children nearby.
The court also issued an indefinite ban on Milner entering cemeteries and parks under the Protection from Harassment Act, citing concerns about his behavior.
On September 7, 2012, Milner was involved in another disturbing incident when he was seen in a Blackpool cemetery, peering through hedges and performing a sex act behind them.
Witnesses, a couple walking their dog, recognized him from media reports and kept a close watch.
Milner’s strange behavior prompted the couple to contact police, who arrested him at the scene.
During questioning, Milner claimed he was in the cemetery to relax after spending all his money in a betting shop and was trying to find a tree where he and his girlfriend had carved their initials.
While on bail for this incident, Milner was involved in a separate altercation at the Litten Tree pub on Queen Street, where a dispute escalated into violence.
He armed himself with a brick and brandished it during the altercation, which involved two males and a female who was struck in the face.
Milner pleaded guilty to outraging public decency and possessing an offensive weapon, receiving additional jail time of six months for the first offence and two months for the second.
Milner’s troubled life, marked by mental health issues, alcoholism, and previous suicide attempts, was highlighted during his sentencing.
His defense acknowledged his personality disorder and troubled past, but emphasized that he recognized the need for help.
Despite this, his repeated criminal behavior underscores the danger he continues to pose to the community of Blackpool.
