A woman’s bravery in speaking out about domestic abuse has resulted in her attacker, Nasaruddin Biror, being sentenced to 27 months in prison at Guildford Crown Court earlier this month. Incident Details Police were called to an address in Woking on 3 May 2024 following reports of a woman being assaulted and threatened with a knife. Biror, 20, of no fixed address, was arrested on 25 May 2024 on suspicion of two assaults and possession of a bladed article. Victim’s Bravery Initially hesitant to support prosecution, the victim was later persuaded by officers to give evidence. In her witness statement, she revealed that she had been too frightened to return home after the incident, fearing further harm from Biror. She also described suffering from sleep disturbances and heightened anxiety. Detective Constable Claire Phillips, who led the investigation, commended the victim for her courage: “The victim’s bravery in coming forward has resulted in Biror being sent to prison, where he will no longer be a threat to her. Her bravery in giving evidence must be commended, and we urge anyone who is the victim of domestic abuse to report it to us straightaway – you will be believed, and you will be supported.” Additional Convictions In addition to the domestic abuse charges, Biror was also found guilty of: Three assaults against police officers and staff. Four counts of fraud for fraudulently using a bank card. Sentencing Outcome Biror’s 27-month sentence reflects the seriousness of his actions and his wider pattern of criminal behavior. Support for Victims The case highlights the importance of victims coming forward to report abuse.
