June 2016 Taxi driver sentenced after being found guilty of raping passenger A taxi driver has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for raping a passenger. Naleem Nasleem, of Oxford Road, in Linthorpe , picked up the woman in his taxi in Middlesbrough . Judge Simon Phillips QC sentenced the 48-year-old yesterday at Teesside Crown Court . A jury had found him guilty of two counts of rape after an eight day trial. Nasleem – who is understood to have been a private hire taxi driver – carried out the rape in the early hours of the morning in September last year. He was also made to sign the sex offenders register indefinitely, alongside his lengthy jail sentence.
