MUKHAN SINGH FROM BIRMINGHAM SEXUALLY ASSAULTS WOMAN ON CHILTERN RAILWAYS TRAIN
On Wednesday, September 22, a disturbing incident occurred aboard a Chiltern Railways train traveling from Birmingham Moor Street to London Marylebone. The perpetrator, Mukhan Singh, who resides on Bearwood Road in Sandwell, engaged in inappropriate and criminal behavior that has since drawn significant attention from law enforcement authorities.
According to reports, Singh initially attracted the victim's attention by staring at a young woman in her twenties who was seated nearby.
His behavior escalated when he moved to sit directly next to her in the aisle, effectively blocking her in and causing her discomfort.
The situation took a more serious turn when Singh proceeded to sexually assault the woman, an act that she managed to record on her mobile device as evidence.
The victim, demonstrating quick thinking and bravery, captured footage of Singh as he disembarked the train at Leamington Spa.
She promptly reported the assault to railway staff, who took immediate action.
Singh was detained at Warwickshire station shortly thereafter and was taken into custody by police authorities.
During police interviews, Singh initially attempted to justify his actions by claiming that the woman ‘wanted something done to her,’ a statement that was later contradicted by his own admission.
On Tuesday, September 26, during a court hearing at Warwick Crown Court, Singh confessed to the sexual assault.
The court sentenced Singh to 16 weeks in jail, a punishment that reflects the severity of his crime.
Additionally, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128.
As part of his legal consequences, Singh will be required to register as a sex offender for the next seven years, ensuring ongoing monitoring and restrictions related to his criminal behavior.
