MOHAMMED UDDIN CAUGHT IN STOKE-ON-TRENT BY PAEDOPHILE HUNTERS AFTER ONLINE SEXUAL CHAT SCANDAL
In August 2021, a disturbing incident unfolded in Stoke-on-Trent involving a man named Mohammed Uddin, who was confronted by vigilant paedophile hunters for engaging in online sexual conversations with what he believed were underage girls.The confrontation was captured on video by the group known as Scorpion Hunters UK, and the footage was subsequently handed over to law enforcement authorities to facilitate legal proceedings against Uddin.
During the recorded encounter, Uddin was restrained on the ground at an undisclosed location within Stoke-on-Trent.
Despite being told repeatedly to remain calm and reassured that he would not be harmed, he appeared to react aggressively, allegedly striking one of the decoys in the jaw.
A close-up shot of his hand revealed that he had sustained an injury to his knuckle, possibly from the altercation.
At the time of the incident, Uddin, who is now residing in Birmingham, believed he was communicating with three schoolgirls.
However, these individuals were actually adult decoys working with the paedophile hunters to catch individuals attempting to engage in illegal sexual activities online.
The group’s representative, a decoy named Dave, identified himself as part of Scorpion Hunters UK and explained their mission to Uddin, emphasizing their role in identifying and apprehending those who target children for sexual purposes.
In the footage, Dave questions Uddin about his online activities, specifically regarding his interactions with minors.
Uddin responds hesitantly, stating he would prefer to wait for police involvement rather than continue the conversation.
The decoys then press him further about the number of children he has been speaking to, but Uddin remains mostly silent, only reiterating his desire to involve law enforcement.
Law enforcement officers eventually arrive on the scene, and Uddin is placed in handcuffs.
The entire incident, which lasted approximately twelve and a half minutes, was live-streamed on Facebook and concludes with Uddin being led away and placed into a police vehicle on October 1, 2019.
Following his arrest, Uddin faced legal proceedings at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.
He pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including attempting to incite a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a minor.
The court heard that Uddin had asked an 11-year-old decoy, known as Skye, for sex and requested her to send pictures of herself.
He also made inappropriate comments to a 14-year-old decoy named Emma, calling her 'cute and hot' and expressing a wish to be younger himself.
Additionally, he suggested to a third decoy, posing as a 12-year-old girl named Shannon, that they could be 'friends with benefits.' As part of his sentencing, Uddin was given a two-year prison sentence, suspended for two years.
The court also imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) for ten years and mandated his registration on the sex offenders' register for the same duration, reflecting the serious nature of his offenses and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
