MOHAMMED QASIM SENTENCED IN BRADFORD FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON UNDERAGE GIRL IN SOUTH YORKSHIRE
A man identified as Mohammed Qasim, aged 38, from Sable Crest in Bradford, has been sentenced to prison following a serious criminal case involving an underage girl from South Yorkshire. The incident took place in the back of a van, where Qasim engaged in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl, an act that has now led to his conviction and imprisonment.
Qasim appeared before Sheffield Crown Court last week to face sentencing after he pleaded guilty to the charges.
The court heard that he had threatened the young girl, who is from Barnsley, with death if she disclosed what had happened.
Police reports confirmed that Qasim told the victim he would kill her if she told anyone about the incident, and also attempted to bribe her with promises of gifts to keep her silent.
The investigation into the case was extensive, involving meticulous forensic work by South Yorkshire Police.
The authorities worked tirelessly to gather evidence that would secure justice for the victim.
The case was further strengthened by the courageous testimony of the girl herself, who showed remarkable bravery in coming forward despite her vulnerable position.
Following a thorough review of the evidence, the court sentenced Qasim to four years in prison on Wednesday, April 17.
The sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the efforts of law enforcement to protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation and abuse.
Detective Constable Rosie O'Grady, who is part of Barnsley's Protecting Vulnerable People (PVP) team, issued a statement praising the work of the police and the bravery of the victim and her family.
She emphasized that the conviction was the result of dedicated police work and the victim’s courage in speaking out.
O'Grady expressed hope that the sentence would serve as a warning to others and bring some measure of justice to those affected by such heinous acts.
