MOHAMMED KABEEER FROM BRADFORD INVOLVED IN SEX OFFENDER CASE AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY SCANDAL

In June 2022, a serious legal matter involving Mohammed Kabeer, a known sex offender from Bradford, came to light when he was summoned back to court due to issues related to his passport renewal.

Kabeer, who resides on Ashgrove, off Great Horton Road in Bradford, had previously been convicted in 2014 for possession of indecent images, which mandated his registration as a sex offender.

The recent court proceedings focused on Kabeer's failure to notify authorities about his renewed passport.

Despite the requirement to inform the police within three days of any passport renewal, Kabeer neglected to do so after his old passport expired in 2018.

This oversight was considered a breach of the conditions attached to his sex offender registration.

Judge Peter Armstrong, presiding over the case at Bradford Crown Court, acknowledged that Kabeer's failure was likely inadvertent and emphasized that no significant harm had resulted from this breach.

Nonetheless, the court deemed it necessary to impose a penalty to uphold the integrity of the registration process.

Kabeer was ordered to pay a total of £305, comprising a fine of £200, £85 in costs, and a £20 surcharge.

Historically, Kabeer’s criminal record is marked by a disturbing case from December 2014, when he was found guilty of sharing highly disturbing images involving child abuse and bestiality.

The court heard that Kabeer, then a 31-year-old warehouse worker living in Bradford, had shared images and videos depicting boys involved in sex acts with animals such as dogs, horses, and hens.

He claimed that he believed the content was a joke and that he had sent some of these images to colleagues, not seeking them out but rather passing them along in a misguided attempt at humor.

The police investigation revealed that the images, which appeared to be of unidentified minors, were likely taken abroad.

Kabeer was found to possess and distribute these indecent images, which included footage of boys as young as three years old engaged in sexual acts, some involving animals.

Additionally, he was caught filming two women in a bathroom in 2012 by holding his camera over a bathroom door and through a window, an act of voyeurism.

During the court hearing, Kabeer’s defense lawyer, Geraldine Kelly, explained that Kabeer did not actively seek out these images online but received them from others.

She described the images as “disgusting in nature” but minimized their significance, asserting that Kabeer did not derive sexual gratification from the material.

Kelly also portrayed Kabeer as immature and naive, believing the images and videos were merely a joke at the time.

Kabeer, who emigrated from Pakistan to the UK in 2001, required a Punjabi interpreter during the proceedings due to language barriers.

Judge Jonathan Rose, who sentenced Kabeer to a week in custody while considering the case, condemned the material as “disgusting and depraved.” He emphasized that despite Kabeer’s role as a family man and his hard-working nature, his actions were profoundly wicked.

The judge expressed concern over Kabeer’s limited intelligence and ordered the probation service to investigate whether his language difficulties rendered him unsuitable for a sex offender treatment program.

The court also considered the possibility of imposing unpaid work as part of his punishment.

Throughout the proceedings, Kabeer expressed remorse and shame for his actions.

He is currently separated from his wife and children but is working to support his family and hopes for reconciliation in the future.

The case highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the justice system in dealing with offenders involved in child exploitation and the importance of monitoring compliance with registration requirements to prevent further offenses.
