BIRMINGHAM MAN CHARGED WITH RAPE AFTER TEENAGER'S NIGHT OF HORROR
A second man has been charged with rape after a teenage girl was reportedly attacked twice in one night.The 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped at Birmingham’s Witton railway station, and then raped again by a driver she flagged down for help around 2am on July 26.Mohammed Ismaeel, aged 22, was detained in August in relation to the second incident.Police announced today that he had been formally charged with rape.According to British Transport Police, Ismaeel, of Deykin Avenue, Birmingham, is scheduled to appear before Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on November 15.
Another man, Khurram Rahi, aged 27, of Rosefield Road, Smethwick, West Midlands, had previously appeared in court at the end of July accused of rape.Rahi has indicated a plea of not guilty.Detective Chief Inspector Tony Fitzpatrick from the British Transport Police commented: ‘Since both these serious incidents in July, we’ve been diligently working to understand exactly what occurred.
We can now confirm that a man has been charged in connection with the incident involving the vehicle after the initial rape.’Police have also appealed for a man who assisted the victim by giving her a lift home.
The officer described him as a white male, approximately 30 to 40 years old, slim with facial stubble, wearing a red and black checkered short-sleeve shirt with no collar, speaking with a Birmingham accent, and driving a seven-seater family car with multiple air fresheners hanging from the rearview mirror.
