MOHAMMED HUSSEIN CAUGHT IN CROYDON TRYING TO MEET 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL AT BROMLEY HOTEL
In a disturbing incident that unfolded in Croydon and Bromley, a 30-year-old man named Mohammed Hussein was confronted by a vigilant group of paedophile hunters as he attempted to meet what he believed was a 12-year-old girl for sexual activity. The confrontation took place outside the Bromley Court Hotel on February 29, after Hussein traveled from Croydon to Bromley by bus, having engaged in online conversations with the girl through a dating application.
According to reports, Hussein had initially believed he was communicating with an 18-year-old woman, as her profile depicted a young white female and claimed she was of legal age.
However, the group behind the sting revealed that the girl was actually a member of their organization, known as 'Internet Interceptors,' posing as a minor to catch potential offenders.
Hussein had been led to believe he was arranging a meeting with a young woman, and in his messages, he suggested activities such as going to the cinema, shopping, and engaging in sexual activity.
In the chat, the girl, under the alias 'Gemma,' inquired whether sexual activity would be appropriate given her age, to which Hussein responded that he would wait until she turned 18 if she was underage.
He also asked her if she was a virgin, further indicating his intentions.
When Hussein arrived at the hotel, he was met by the paedophile hunters, who recorded the encounter.
During the confrontation, Hussein expressed feelings of guilt and admitted that his actions were wrong.
He stated, “I accept that this is wrong.
If she’s under 18, then it’s totally wrong,” and added, “I feel very guilty.
It was my big mistake.” Hussein, who moved to the UK from Pakistan eight years ago, pleaded with the group and the parents present, claiming he had never tried to meet a young girl before and would not do so again.
He tearfully promised, “That’s my first time and last time.
I never do this again.
I’m a Muslim, I never lie.
Trust me, I swear to my God I never do this before, I never do again just give me only one chance.” He was found guilty at Inner London Crown Court of attempting to meet a child following sexual grooming.
Hussein is currently awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for Wednesday, November 9.
The case highlights ongoing concerns about online grooming and the importance of vigilant community efforts to protect minors from exploitation.
