LEEDS TAKEAWAY WORKERS MOHAMMED HUSSAIN, SHAH MIAH, AND HARRIS UDDIN GROOM YOUNG GIRLS IN SHOCKING SEXUAL EXPLOITATION CASE
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Leeds, three takeaway restaurant employees—Mohammed Hussain, Shah Miah, and Harris Uddin—have been convicted and sentenced for their roles in the sexual exploitation of underage girls.The incident unfolded in the early hours of a March morning when the men, returning home from their shifts, encountered a group of young girls in Cross Flatts Park, located in the Beeston area of Leeds.
According to court proceedings, the girls, aged 11, 12, and 13, had stayed out past their parental curfews, which left them feeling frightened and vulnerable.
The three men, noticing the girls, initiated contact with them.
Miah, aged 28, engaged the girls in conversation and soon persuaded them to accompany him to his nearby residence on Woodview Street.
Once there, the men offered the girls cannabis and subjected them to exposure to pornographic films, creating an environment of manipulation and exploitation.
Tragically, the abuse escalated when two of the girls were taken upstairs.
During the assault, Mohammed Hussain, aged 28, engaged in sexual activity with one of the 12-year-old victims, despite her pleas for him to stop.
Harris Uddin, aged 30, attempted to remove the trousers of another girl but ceased his actions when she explicitly asked him not to.
The court heard that all three men were arrested later that same day, following police investigations prompted by reports from the community.
Mohammed Hussain pleaded guilty to the charge of rape and was subsequently sentenced to six years and eight months in prison.
Harris Uddin admitted to sexual assault and received a sentence of 12 months.
It was also revealed during the trial that both Hussain and Uddin had been residing in the UK illegally as overstayers, with plans for deportation to India once their sentences are served.
Shah Miah, who facilitated the sexual offences against the children, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the crimes and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
It was further disclosed that Miah is already serving a four-and-a-half-year sentence for sex offences involving three other children.
Detective Superintendent Pat Twiggs, who leads the Leeds District Crime Unit, expressed his condemnation of the offenders' actions.
He stated, “These men preyed on these vulnerable young girls in a premeditated way to sexually exploit them.
