MICHAEL SNYDER SENTENCED TO 16 YEARS IN PRISON FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN WHITSTABLE AND SURROUNDING AREAS
In a significant development in the fight against child exploitation, Michael Snyder, a 69-year-old resident of Regent Street, Whitstable, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 16 years for committing a series of serious child sex offences.The case, which has spanned several decades, involved a total of 15 separate criminal acts, highlighting the disturbing pattern of abuse perpetrated by Snyder.
The offences are divided into two distinct periods and locations.
Eight of the crimes occurred between 1998 and 2003, with incidents taking place in both Whitstable and Brixton.
These offences involved vulnerable victims and have caused lasting trauma.
The remaining seven offences date back even further, between 1971 and 1973, and took place in Carshalton, Surrey.
The long gap between the offences underscores the troubling history of Snyder’s predatory behavior.
Authorities began investigating Snyder earlier this year after a series of revelations.
The initial series of offences was uncovered by detectives, which prompted further inquiries.
