MICHAEL SAINT FROM DUNFERMLINE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN LIMEKILNS

Michael Saint, a 60-year-old resident of Limekilns, Dunfermline, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following his conviction on multiple serious charges of sexual offences against young girls. The sentencing took place at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where the court also ordered Saint to be registered on the sex offenders register, reflecting the severity of his crimes.

Saint’s criminal conduct involved disturbing and repeated acts of sexual misconduct directed at three young girls, with one of the victims being molested from the age of just 10. The offences spanned several years, with the earliest incidents beginning in January 2012 and continuing until July 2015. During this period, Saint engaged in inappropriate physical contact, including repeatedly stroking a girl’s leg and touching her chest on multiple occasions. The girl, who was only 10 years old when the abuse started, was subjected to this misconduct over a prolonged period.

As the girl grew older, Saint’s inappropriate behaviour escalated. When she was 13, he began making sexual comments about her appearance and body, often directing these remarks towards her. He also made offers to buy her clothes if she allowed him to touch her, further demonstrating his manipulative and predatory behaviour. These exchanges of indecent communication occurred over a span of nine months, highlighting a pattern of grooming and exploitation.

In addition to the abuse of this girl, Saint also engaged in indecent communications with another young girl, starting when she was 12. Over various occasions, he sent her sexual messages, asked her to model for him, discussed her underwear, and requested her to wear a bikini. These inappropriate interactions took place from late April 2020 to early March 2021, revealing a disturbing pattern of predatory behaviour extending over several years.

Saint’s actions were found to be deliberate, with the intent of obtaining sexual gratification or humiliating and distressing the victims. The court heard that he was guilty of six charges of a sexual nature, including the indecent communication with the girls. One additional charge of indecent communication with another female was not proven in court.

During the sentencing hearing, Saint’s defence lawyer, Aime Allan, maintained her client’s innocence. It was also noted that Saint had been employed full-time prior to these allegations but lost his job as a consequence of the accusations.

Sheriff Charles Macnair, presiding over the case, emphasized the gravity of the offences. While acknowledging that Saint was a first-time offender, the sheriff stated that this fact offered little mitigation given the seriousness of the crimes. He concluded that the only appropriate sentence was custodial, and he sentenced Saint to 18 months in prison, which he described as the minimum suitable term. The sheriff also pointed out that if Saint had a prior criminal record, the sentence would have been significantly longer.

Furthermore, an indefinite non-harassment order was issued to protect all three victims from further contact or harassment by Saint. Saint has already been placed on the sex offenders register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities. As of May 2025, it was reported that Saint has been released from custody, raising ongoing concerns about his reintegration into the community.
