DONCASTER SEX OFFENDER MICHAEL LLOYD SENTENCED TO 14 YEARS FOR ABUSE OF 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Doncaster, Michael Lloyd, aged 64, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 14 years after being found guilty of multiple serious sexual offences committed against a young girl. The crimes, which spanned over two years, involved attempted rape and sexual assault, and were uncovered thanks to the courageous actions of the victim and her schoolteachers.
Michael Lloyd, a resident of Broxholme Lane in Doncaster, was brought to justice following a trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
The court heard that Lloyd’s offending began when the girl was just 11 years old and continued until she reached the age of 13.
The allegations included two counts of attempted rape and two counts of sexual assault, all of which Lloyd was convicted of after the evidence was presented.
The investigation into Lloyd’s actions was initiated after the victim confided in a close friend about the abuse.
The friend, in turn, reported the matter to the girl’s teachers, who immediately took action by informing South Yorkshire Police.
This prompt response was instrumental in ensuring that Lloyd’s crimes did not go unpunished and that the victim received the support she needed.
During the sentencing hearing, Judge Sarah Wright described the victim’s testimony as “utterly compelling,” emphasizing the profound impact Lloyd’s actions had on her.
The judge stated, “The evidence of the victim was utterly compelling.
You had no thought or concern for her feelings and the effect on the girl caused catastrophic, immeasurable harm.” Judge Wright also acknowledged the bravery of the young girl in coming forward, recognizing her courage in facing her abuser and helping to protect others from falling victim to similar crimes.
As part of his sentence, Lloyd will serve 14 years in prison and will be subject to lifelong sex offender registration conditions, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his conduct after his release from incarceration.
