MICHAEL FISHER FROM DONCASTER SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN 2021
In May 2021, a man from Doncaster named Michael Fisher was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a young girl.
The incident occurred in February 2021, when Fisher, who had been drinking at a house in Doncaster, was found in bed with the girl the following morning.
It was only after the girl later reported feeling soreness in her private parts that investigators uncovered the sexual assault.
Following the abuse on February 23, police attended the girl’s home and arranged for her to undergo a medical examination.
Fisher, aged 33, was due to face sentencing on a Wednesday; however, the session was postponed.
Fisher then requested to be remanded in custody, stating he wanted to be protected from those outraged by his actions.
Judge Jeremy Richardson carefully considered the case and described Fisher’s behavior as “grotesque,” ultimately sentencing him to 20 months in prison.
His early guilty plea on two counts of sexual assault of a child contributed to a reduction in his sentence.
Additionally, further reductions were made in light of COVID-19 prison protocols and Fisher’s vulnerability, as acts of mercy.
