INVERNESS MAN MICHAEL FALLOWS CAUGHT WITH CHILD ABUSE IMAGES IN SCANDAL
A 20-year-old man from Inverness, identified as Michael Fallows, faced serious legal consequences after being found in possession of a significant number of child abuse images. The incident unfolded when authorities uncovered that Fallows had downloaded and stored these illicit images on his Samsung device.
The police investigation was initiated following intelligence reports indicating the presence of such material on March 5, 2021.
Subsequently, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at Fallows' residence located at Montrose Mansions in Corpach, Inverness.
During the raid, they confiscated his phone, which contained a total of 142 images depicting child abuse.
Of these, 43 were classified as the most extreme forms of abuse, highlighting the severity of the material involved.
Fallows appeared before Sheriff Gary Aitken at Inverness Sheriff Court to be sentenced for his actions.
During the hearing, the court was informed of the disturbing nature of the images and the implications of possessing such material.
The prosecution emphasized that these images represented real victims and were not merely fictional or Hollywood-style portrayals.
Sheriff Aitken addressed Fallows directly, stating, "This is actual abuse of children watched second hand and is not some Hollywood movie.
It is the commercial exploitation of children for sexual gratification and is fueled by people like you surfing the net.
Offending of this kind is by no means victimless — far from it." In sentencing, Sheriff Aitken ordered Fallows to complete 150 hours of unpaid community service and placed him under two years of social work supervision.
Additionally, Fallows was mandated to register as a sex offender for a period of two years, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the ongoing risk posed by such behavior.
