HIGHLAND SERIAL RAPIST JAILED AT STIRLING COURT FOR ATTACKS OVER YEARS IN INVERNESS, DINGWALL, AVIEMORE AND GLENROTHES, FIFE
A man described as a "violent and depraved" serial rapist, who inflicted what one victim called “the worst pain she'd ever experienced,” has been sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Dariusz Matejewicz assaulted four former partners—three of whom he raped multiple times—and also attacked a young infant girl, endangering her life, during a series of assaults across Inverness, Aviemore, Dingwall, and Glenrothes in Fife.
At Stirling High Court, Judge Lord Stuart handed down a total sentence of 25 years, comprising 18 years behind bars and 7 years of supervised release.
He was also ordered to avoid all four victims for life and to register as a sex offender.
The crimes took place over nearly 15 years, from May 2007 to March 2022, involving both physical and sexual violence against his ex-partners and a baby.
Matejewicz, who is from Poland, denied all allegations and claimed there was a conspiracy, but a jury in Edinburgh found him guilty.
The court emphasized the severe physical and emotional damage inflicted on his victims and the betrayal of trust involved in his actions.
