MATTHEW TALLENTIRE PLEADS GUILTY TO RAPE IN BLACKPOOL BEACH HOTEL
A man identified as Matthew Tallentire has been sentenced to prison after committing a serious sexual assault in Blackpool.The incident involved the rape of a 13-year-old girl in a hotel, an attack that occurred after Tallentire had established a seemingly friendly relationship with her on the beach.
According to Lancashire Police, the assault took place during the summer of 2020, a period when the girl had traveled to Blackpool accompanied by two adults.
It was during this visit that Tallentire, who was then known to be residing in Blackpool but is now without a fixed address, approached and befriended the girl and her companions on the resort’s popular beach.
Following a thorough investigation, Tallentire was brought to trial at Preston Crown Court.
The court found him guilty of two counts of rape and one count of attempted rape, a verdict that underscores the severity of his actions.
The trial revealed the disturbing nature of the crime and the manipulative manner in which Tallentire gained the girl’s trust before assaulting her.
On the day of sentencing, which took place at Preston Crown Court, Tallentire, aged 32, was handed a prison term of nine years.
His previous residence in Blackpool was noted during proceedings, but he is now classified as having no fixed address.
